Wilson introduces the use of Basalt fiber (BLX) technology for improved feel and frame feedback, continuing to feature classic feel in the same tradition as the previous-generation Hyper Pro Staff 6.1 and Pro Staff Classic 6.1, coupled with the added feel and stability of BLX technology. Open 16x18 string bed further enhances control and spin potential for advanced players. Specifications are nearly identical to the K Six One Tour 90. BLX builds upon the very popular K Factor design, offering a refinement of Wilson frame technology that provides the ultimate in feel and performance. Uses new Wilson Pro Hybrid Grip offers thinner (1.6mm) synthetic grip comfort, combined with a leather base for ultimate feel. What is BLX?
Basalt is a natural volcanic rock used in manufacturing and made into fine and ultra fine gold fibers that are enviornmentally friendly and superior to other fibers in terms of thermal stability, sound insluation, vibration assistance and durability.
Basalt added into racquets filters out unwanted frequencies (i.e vibrations) that reach the hand to deliver a clean feedback and sensation for the perfect feel players demand.

Wilson Six One 95 BLX Tennis Racquet-4 1/8 Review
Play level: advancedPreferred surface: hard
I was originally skeptical about the BLX 95 16X18, thinking it was just another marketing ploy by Wilson. However, I decided to demo it after repeated recommendation from a friend. I was so surprised by how stable the racquet felt in my hand during play that I decided to purchase it. (as a side note, I strung mine with Luxilon Alu Power Rough 16L at 51 lb.) I hit slightly more flat than I do with topspin and the weight and point of balance do a great job in making it suitable for ground strokes and volleys alike. I slice my backhands often and didn't find any trouble in doing that with this racquet either. I felt that the feedback wasn't jarring with the BLX 95 and the sweet spot wasn't too hard to find during my early time with it. For my serves, I found that this racquet actually improved the pace and spin of them.
My overall impression of the Wilson BLX Six.One 95 16X18: it's a great racquet that's suited to all-court play. However, it's a racquet for more advanced players and the price tag would probably deter many recreational/leisure players from getting it anyway. If you're a seasoned player who's looking for a racquet that offers great stability for all-court play, consider the BLX 95 16X18.
