Product Description

With a sleek silver face surrounded by a black rubber bezel, the Invicta Men's 1463 Reserve Chronograph Silver Dial Stainless-Steel Watch is a formidable timepiece that definitely deserves a spot in your collection. It begins with a 45mm stainless steel case and stainless steel bezel with a black rubber top that features black numbers embossed on it. Prominent pushers and stainless steel screw-down crown set off the right side of the case. These steel elements cradle a silver dial, which is protected by a flame fusion crystal and features luminous hour markers. The dial also features three chronograph sub-dials, a date display window between the 4 and 5 'o clock position and luminous hands powered by reliable Swiss quartz movement. The stainless steel bracelet sports a three-link construction as it reaches out to the push-button deployment clasp.

Invicta Men's 1463 Reserve Collection Chronograph Silver Dial Stainless Steel Watch Review

The Invicta 1463 is an impressive piece, make no mistake about it. When you remove it from the box, you know you're dealing with a well-made watch. It's got HEFT. So the first thing I can ask a potential buyer of the 1463 is "do you like weighty watches?" If the answer is "no", then by all means, move on to something else. I wear it and I kid my wife I'm working on the muscles in my left arm... but after the first day I wore it, I realized I might not have been kidding.

The watch is beautiful and noticeable. If you come in to work wearing it for the first time, people will either compliment you for it or ask you about it. The silver band is classic, but if your hand is palm-up so that you can't see the watch face, it may also be mistaken for heavy metal concert jewelry. It's beefy metal! The white face is bordered by a thick black band and the hands are an interesting black-white (luminous) hybrid. All in all, the face is busy, with a date window just south of five o'clock, and three smaller "sub-dials" (including 1/10th second) with white faces and black hands. The numbers are actually luminous dots, very easy to read in daylight, but not super-bright in reduced light. I highly recommend to all potential buyers that you go up to the top of this page and click on the watch for a close-up view, and when you do that, click to mangify as well.

The watch is definitely waterproof. If I ever dive to more than 650 feet, I imagine it will be because I've done something terribly wrong, but at least I know the watch has a chance to survive me. I have tried the stopwatch, and it works just fine, but honestly it's a novelty to me; if I ever really needed one for whatever reason, I'd probably just buy a digital stopwatch.

I am 6-feet tall and 280 pounds, so the aforementioned wristband fits me alright. I like the clasp. If you're smaller, I imagine you might need to have the band adjusted by a jeweler at the local mall (I've always been fortunate enough to have the right wrist for the watchband, so I'm not really sure where I'd go!). Even if you do, I will warn you that my fellow reviewer, D. Wortham, hit the nail on the head in that you will learn the hard way that the little hairs surrounding the band will be removed one by one over a short period of time until that part of your wrist is a hair-barren strip in the shape of a watch. I've accepted this as a part of life just as those who play guitar accept the callouses.

Currently, the watch lists at $190 on Amazon. I don't know that I would ever pay that amount for a watch, but if I did, this would be the one. It's classy, stylish, and handsome, and when I wear it, I can say that at least something about me is all three. :^)
