3M Peltor Listen-Only Headset, MP3 and 2-Way Radio Compatible Review

I'm familiar with Peltor products. This headset has great hearing protection, one of the best I've used. But the "listen only" part leaves something to be desired. I bought these to use in my woodshop. There are times when I have repetitive work and like to listen to my mp3 player. I found 2 problems with these using for that purpose.

1. The cord is too short. When I plug them into my ipod and put the player in my back pocket, i'm constantly pulling the plug out

2. The volume is too low. I know, I know, you're supposed to keep the volume low, but when the ipod is on full volume, you can barely hear it in the headphones, regardless of whether the machinery is running or not.

Result, I bought a different pair of headphones for that purpose. I'll probably keep these around for hearing protection, but don't buy them if you intend to use them with an MP3 player. I even tried using them with an amplifier made for headphones, to no avail.

Wild Country by Terra Nova Zephyros 2 Person Tent (Green) Review

First off, the Zephyros is a great tent for price. I'm sure that I would be more impressed if I didn't own the Terra Nova Laser Comp 1, the tent that this tent is modeled after. However, the Laser is 3 times the cost so keep that in mind.
I bought the Zephyros 2 because the interior is a little larger than the Laser and I figured that I could use it when I wanted a little more comfort. But the added inside space comes at the cost of the porch size. The build quality is satisfactory for the price point. Be aware that even though it is called a 2 person tent, there is no way that 2 normal sized adults are going to be comfortable in it.

Combat Sports Thai-Clinch Grappling Dummy (90-Pound) Review

Some months ago I started taking BJJ lessons at the local academy. After a bit I felt like two lessons a week didn't really cut it. Surfing the web and talking a friend I discovered grappling dummies. Not surprisingly I found alot of these products to be very expensive. Then I discovered this particular item.

The seller was fast and the dummy was delivered expertly packaged. On their part, the sellers did fantastic. The actually dummy itself is another story. I do like how the dummy is fairly tall and very heavy, giving me proper opportunity to practice my throws and grapples. Unfortuately this dummy is very, very, VERY, stiff. Every part of the dummy from the head all the way down is incredible ridgid. I read on some sites time might make it looser. Others have also mentioned removing some of the stuff myself, but I am worried about permanently damaging it. I wear an A2 sized gi and unfortunately I cannot use any of my gis on the dummy to practice gi chokes. While I like price and other aspects of the dummy there are some cons I really wish i had known about before had. In the end I can still use this to improve my BJJ and hope this review would shed some light on this well priced dummy with some setbacks.

Suunto t3 Heart Rate Monitor and Fitness Trainer Watch (Black) Review

I traded in my Polar and waited for this watch to be released. I had doubts about the Training Effect feature, but after using it a couple times at the gym, it works great and helps to push me to make sure I get a good workout. The only drawback is that the face of the watch is plastic and may scratch, but I guess that is what you get for a watch under $200. So far though, I am very happy with the watch and its features, its very easy to use and since it has a 3 line display, you can get all the information you need while working out without hitting the buttons all the time. Both batteries can be user replaced which is nice and the belt has no crosstalk with the other machines, ie. other gym equipment. I would definitely suggest this watch if you are serious about getting into shape or monitoring your workouts. The other nice thing is that you can switch out the bands if you don't like a certain color or want to change the looks of the watch.

Pflueger President LP Reel, 130-Yards/14-Pound Review

I have been a casual fisherman for the last 20 years. I have primarily used spinning reels and this is the first baitcast reel I have ever purchased. It is a solidly constructed product up to par with what I have come to expect from Pflueger. The reel is extremely lightweight and smooth, the magnetic brake and anti-braking controls are easy to use and precise, each click does something and it is really easy to fine tune. Having said that, I have learned that baitcast reels require a little bit of skill to cast with. Your first few casts are going to probably have backlash and you need to be prepared for that if you have never used one of these before. I am using mine on a bait cast 6' Ugly Stick with 12lb Suffix Mono-filament. The memory of mono-filament line probably does not help with the backlash, but i figured it would be a hell of a lot easier to untangle the rats nest than if I was using braided line.

CONS-
Doesn't like light(under 1/4oz) tackle/bait

These goggles are fantastic. If only for the fact that they come with a spare lense, and a bag to carry both the goggles and lense or the fact that they are Native goggles with one of the best warrenties on the market or the fact that these goggles are two or three times this price on other web sites.. These goggles are a steal. I had a lower end pair of Smith goggles that were in the 50 dollar price range just like these goggles that got chewed up by my dog.. After buying these goggles as a replacement I am pretty sure he did that as a favor to get me to buy some amazing goggles for a great price. Fit is great, anti fog is great, warrenty is supurb, Must Buy.
