Minox BF 10x42 BR Binoculars Review

The Minox BF 10x42 BR binoculars are just the ticket if you want a solid set of binoculars that are waterproof and offer very good optical clarity for relatively little money. I bought these mainly for use at the range so I can see how well I'm shooting at distant targets. Up to now I have used cheaper binoculars that are okay for relatively short distances, but I wanted something of higher quality that could be used at longer distance such as 100 yards or more. These work very well for that purpose. They are built like a tank - they are not cheap plastic like you might find with lower cost binoculars. As such they are somewhat heavy but not overly so. The optical clarity is very good. I wear glasses and have no difficulty using them. The binoculars are manufactured in Germany, so you can expect very precise and quality construction. They come with a very nice, felt-lined case and a set of rubber covers for the eye pieces. Some reviewers have commented that they do not come with covers for the objective lenses. That is true for the BF model, but the more expensive BV model does include them. However, Minox will send you covers for the objective lenses for the BF model free of charge if you send them an email request. The covers they sent are rubber and have rings to keep them attached to the binoculars when not in use so they won't get lost. I docked my rating a star solely because you have to specially request the objective covers, but I will say their customer service is excellent if you contact Minox about it.

I must admit I did not buy my Minox binoculars from Amazon because I found them for a far lower price online elsewhere. At the $200 price on Amazon you may be better off spending another $30 for the upgrade to the BV version of this same model binocular. But I'm very happy with the BF model, and I think you will find them for a very good price if you do a little online searching.
