the fit is snug, which is what I wanted so that the material doesn't flap in the breeze. I usually wear 30" by 30" so small size is right, but could not be much smaller or they wouldn't pull on too well. After 100 miles, 50 in cold drizzle and 50 in chilly temps but dry, my base layer was fairly damp, but I stayed warm the entire ride when I normally would have been shivering. Given this experience, I think they would be suitable for cold wet or dry rides into the forties and thirties as they are windproof. Definitely recommend. I have the PRO barrier shoe covers also and those are superb.
