They call this the Fahgettaboudit for a reason. Yeah, if I go into Hastings for an hour to look at books and stuff, I still occasionally get paranoid about some wanker kid vandalizing my brake lines or something, but I know they ain't gonna take my bike.

This thing is built like a brick poop-house from the insane chain to the lock and the keys.

The nylon chain cover also has another nice function besides keeping your bike from getting scratched up. It makes it so you can wear the thing pretty comfortably as a belt. I put it on and hardly know it's there with the weight distrubuted over my hips/legs. Cinch it in the front, apply the lock, then spin it around so it is over your butt. Sometimes I wrap the lock through several times (sort of twisting the chain) if it feels loosy-goosy. It's too big of a beast to carry in a backpack very comfortably. I've tried it (and I am about 6'6" 250).

If you've got a nice (expensive) bike I think this is well worth the investment. I think this is a much more versatile solution than a u-lock too. Another suggestion, take the front wheel off, put next to the rear, then you can go through both wheels and the frame with the chain. Works nicely.

Speedplay clipless pedals Frog Cr-Mo pedalset black Review

I've been mountain-biking for 20 years, and started out using Shimano SPD pedals, which have twin locking mechanisms and hold your shoe firmly in position. I found that after a hard ride my knees would hurt from having my foot in a fixed position while maneuvering the bike, so I sought another solution. A salesman at REI recommended the Speedplay Frog pedals to me about 15 years ago, and I have been using them consistently since. Unlike the Shimanos, the Frog pedals have no moving parts and allow my feet to "float" on the pedal so my knees don't hurt anymore. These pedals also have grease points (the phillips head in the centerline of the pedal) that allow you to re-grease the bearings so they will last indefinitely (the grease tool is sold separately). In 15 years of riding at least once a week on mostly rocky terrain, and hitting the pedals on rocks more times than I can count, I have only broken one cleat, and one pedal, in a fall that literally split the pedal in half.

As with all "clipless" pedals, you have to train your feet how to get out of the pedal, but after a short time (and a few falls) it became second nature and now I can get my foot out easily whenever I need to. They are also easy to clip into and snap when the cleat is fully locked, and I can still get them locked in mud since the cleats are designed to clear mud as you lock your shoe in.

I highly recommend these pedals and haven't seen anything that compares to the simplicity of design, ease of use, and durability on rocks.

I absolutely adore these cufflinks and can't wait to give them as a gift to my boyfriend. However, getting them was a little bit more work than I had anticipated. As it turns out the cufflinks had to be custom made, which wasn't mentioned in the item description. When I ordered the item on March 24th I was given an expected date of April 4th (a Monday) at the latest. On April 2nd (the Saturday before) I still hadn't received notification that the item had even shipped. I did receive an auto generated email from Amazon informing me that the seller hadn't yet confirmed shipping of the item and that the charge would be removed from my card until it had been shipped. I still really wanted the cufflinks so I emailed back and asked for an estimate. Farney's was very responsive to all my inquiries and kept me very up to date via email and phone once the estimated arrival date had passed on the status of the order and when the item would ship. I was really pleased with their customer service (they partially refunded my shipping due to the delay) and loved the item, I just wish that the description when I ordered the item had mentioned that the item would take extra time to ship.
