The Origin 32 is probably my favorite backpack of all time, but after 6 months, the lightweight fabric started to tear away from the zipper. Cascade Designs backs up their products with a lifetime warranty and I am soon to receive the newer Sprinter XT 35 model.

That said, this pack is lightweight, strong in the right places, and ergonomic. Platypus is easily the best at hydration systems and it shows it with the design of the pack, inside and out.

The waterproof, taped seams and water-resistant zippers are a must-have feature, even for urban use. I've carried electronics, clothes, and assorted items all around Turkey for 6 months, many times having to commute in the rain. Everything was perfectly dry. As often happens with hydration packs, I forgot to lock the bite valve and gave the hose too much lead. The backpack was sitting on the hose all night and I woke up to the bag in a puddle of water. The inside of the pack remained dry.
